When Leah Miller reached out to me about updating her brand photos, I knew right away this was going to be a fun one. Leah is the Fractional CFO behind Firmly Profits, where she helps law firms across the country get a real handle on their numbers.
Here’s the thing: Leah is incredible at what she does. But like so many business owners I work with, her photos weren’t keeping up with her. She works with high-end law firm clients all over the U.S., and she needed a brand photography experience that would help her show up as the confident, credible expert she is — on her website, on LinkedIn, and in all other marketing materials.
Before we ever picked up a camera, Leah and I sat down and talked strategy. That’s how I approach every branding photoshoot. The photos should actually work for your business, not just look nice. For Leah, that meant images that could:
That’s the magic of a strategically planned photoshoot — every image has a job to do.
We kicked things off at Leah’s office in downtown Brooksville, where we captured a full mix of imagery: polished headshots, branded stock photos she can use across her website and marketing, and lifestyle and action shots of her in her element — reviewing P&Ls, working at her desk, and even recording a virtual podcast episode. Those in-action shots are some of my favorites because they show exactly what it looks like to work with her.
From there, we headed out to a couple of locations in downtown Brooksville to round out the session. We grabbed outdoor headshots, some walking and action shots to bring in movement and energy, and full-body images in front of the historic courthouse giving Leah a great variety of backdrops that still feel true to her brand.
By the end of the session, Leah walked away with a full library of images she can pull from for months: website photos, LinkedIn content, podcast covers, speaker one-sheets, and social media posts that actually sound and look like her.

If you’re a consultant, CFO, attorney, or any kind of expert-based business owner, your photos are often the first impression a potential client gets long before they ever talk to you. If your images don’t match the level of expertise you bring to the table, it creates a disconnect. Leah recognized that gap and did something about it, and now her brand visuals finally match the caliber of work she delivers to her law firm clients.
